The Extraordinary Is Gala Dinner

On Friday, November 15, 2019, the Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation will host its fifth annual awards gala at Live! By Loews in Arlington, Texas. The Extraordinary Is Awards Gala is the marquis, annual event of the Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation.  At the Awards Gala, we celebrate and honor local nonprofit organizations, high school and college students, and corporations who have made an extraordinary impact on the local DFW community. We strive to honor the unsung, ordinary, everyday heroes in our community with grants and scholarships.

The event is comprised of a cocktail hour, silent and live auction, awards ceremony, dinner, dancing, and keynote speech. Past keynote addresses have been given by Lynette Khalfani-Cox, Carl Lewis, US Army Master Sergeant Cedric King, and Tyson Durfey. Since 2017, Kevin Frazier, the Emmy Award winning co-host of Entertainment Tonight, has been a special guest and master of ceremonies at the event. To date, we have given out 45 college scholarships, 13 sustaining college grants, 12 impact awards, and have seeded 14 nonprofit organizations. The Awards Gala is our main source of fundraising for the Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation.
