The Extraordinary Is Gala celebrates and honors scholarship recipients, community leaders, and incredible nonprofit organizations who have inspired and served our community in the past year. The Gala presents a famous or influential keynote speaker to relate their extraordinary life story and inspire our guests. Previous speakers have included Olympic gold medalists Carl Lewis and Lamont Smith, and financial commentator and author Lynnette Khalfani-Cox. The Gala is our primary fundraising event in the DFW area.
United States Master Sergeant
Master Sergeant Cedric King entered the United States Army in 1995. During a career that took him from an infantry private to a position of leadership in the elite Rangers, King graduated from a number of distinguished Army schools. These included The United States Army Jumpmaster Course, United States Army Pathfinder course, Air Assault course, The United States Army Ranger Course, and others. He is the recipient of the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal, and is a four-time Best Ranger Competition participant.

Extraordinary Is is raising $100,000 to support our three programs. On Thursday, November 9, 2017 The Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation, Inc. will host its third annual awards dinner celebrating nonprofit organizations and corporations who have made an extraordinary impact on the local community.
The Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation, Inc. celebrates local companies that work in the local community to help create extraordinary stories of giving and stewardship. Stories about extraordinary businesses that lead by example, create opportunity for employees to volunteer in their community and companies that focus on improving the environment where their employees live and work. The Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation, Inc. looks to publically recognize local businesses nominated for their extraordinary work in the community.
The Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation, Inc. celebrates nonprofit organizations with extraordinary stories. Stories about extraordinary organizations that utilize ordinary resources to solve big problems in the community. The Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation, Inc. has committed to giving away $25,000 over the next five years to local not-for-profit organizations nominated for their extraordinary work in the community.
The Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation, Inc. celebrates extraordinary high school students who utilize ordinary resources to create change in their local community. Scholars who donate their time and talent to give back to the community, to volunteer for local organizations and maintain high academic and athletic performance while doing great work in the community. The Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation, Inc. has committed to giving away $10,000 over the next five years to deserving high school academic scholars and athletes.
